O Senado Federal aprovou, nesta quarta-feira (4), o projeto de lei que amplia, de forma gradual, a licença-paternidade, passando dos atuais cinco dias para 20 dias a partir de 2029. A aprovação ocorreu em votação simbólica, e o projeto será encaminhado à sanção do presidente Lula.
De acordo com a proposta, a licença-paternidade terá duração de dez dias a partir de 1º de janeiro de 2027; 15 dias a partir de 2028; e 20 dias, em 2029. O texto garante remuneração integral e estabilidade no emprego.
A licença-paternidade será concedida ao empregado em razão de nascimento de filho ou de adoção e guarda judicial de criança ou de adolescente.
O benefício será suspenso, cessado ou indeferido quando houver elementos concretos que indiquem a prática, pelo pai, de violência doméstica ou abandono material em relação à criança ou ao adolescente sob sua responsabilidade.
